The banks are forbidden to receive bills’ payment of a value equal or superior to R$10 thousand, with the use of cash money.

As of May 28th 2018, it is forbidden for banks to receive cash Money for bills payment of a value equal or superior to R$10 thousand.

The Resolution nº 4.648/2018 of Central Bank of Brazil makes public that the National Monetary Council decided:

Decided to forbid the financial institutions to receive payment bills of a value equal or above R$10.000,00 (ten thousand reais) with the use of cash money; and.
When there is evidence of an attempt to circumvent the resolution, the banks may decline to receive value payment less than R$10.000,00 (ten thousand reais) with the use of cash money.

The new rules improves the controls to prevent money laundering and intends to stimulate the efficiency of the financial system.
